SERMON NOTES

VISION SUNDAY 2026

Before looking ahead to where God is leading us in 2026, it is important to remember who we are.

Many believers are saved, yet still living small—loving God while negotiating with fear, worshipping boldly but thinking timidly, praying for heaven while living as though earth is the final destination. Somewhere along the way, humility became confused with hiding, holiness with withdrawing, and faith with waiting for permission.

Vision Sunday is a reminder that God never created His people to shrink back. We were created to take ground. Before sin, before struggle, and before scarcity, Scripture tells us there was DOMINION.

Created With Authority

Genesis 1:28 (ESV) says: “And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion…’”

Genesis does not begin with bondage; it begins with authority. God’s first words over humanity were not about survival or coping, but about fruitfulness, multiplication, influence, and responsibility.

Biblical dominion does not mean domination, control, or ego. It is a God-given authority to steward, build, multiply, and influence for His glory. Dominion is not about taking over people—it is about taking responsibility. It means refusing to abandon what God has entrusted, refusing to bury what heaven has planted, and refusing to shrink what God has called us to steward. When God gives vision, He also gives authority to carry it.

Authorised Before You Were Qualified

Genesis 1:28 begins with 4 powerful words: "And God blessed them..." God did not wait for Adam and Eve to prove themselves. He did not test them first or require experience before entrusting them with authority.

Throughout Scripture, God consistently calls people before they feel ready:

  • Moses felt inadequate, and God reminded him who created his mouth.
  • Gideon felt insignificant, and God called him a mighty warrior.
  • Jeremiah felt too young, and God silenced his hesitation.
  • Peter felt unworthy, and Jesus still said, “Follow Me.”

God does not argue with human weakness; He overrides it with His Word. His calling does not consult insecurity. Readiness is not a feeling—it is a decision. Dominion begins when we stop questioning our calling and start walking in it.

Dominion Is Built Through Stewardship

God’s instruction to “be fruitful and multiply” was never about fame or visibility. It was about faithfulness with what is already in our hands.

Dominion grows through stewardship—stewarding marriages, families, time, gifts, and the local church. For this reason, 2026 is not only about preaching; it is about building.

What We Are Stewarding Together in 2026

  • February: Marriage Conference

Strong churches are built on strong homes. This is about helping marriages thrive, not merely survive.

  • May: Embrace Grace Conference

A declaration that grace continues to heal, restore, and empower. This house remains a place where broken people become bold witnesses.

  • June: Men’s Conference

When men rise, families stabilise.

  • August: Ladies Conference

When women walk in identity, generations are impacted.

  • Youth and Young Adults Conference

When young people encounter God, the future is shaped.

What You Subdue Today Becomes Your Testimony Tomorrow

Genesis 1:28 also calls humanity to subdue the earth. To subdue does not mean to destroy, but to bring things under God’s order. For many, this means taking dominion over fear that has spoken for too long, cycles that have repeated through generations, and mindsets that limit what God can do.

Dominion means what once intimidated you no longer controls you. Prayer shifts from defeat to authority. Worship shifts from victimhood to inheritance. When God’s people understand who they are, families change, cities are influenced, and future generations inherit confidence instead of confusion.

Stepping Into 2026

Vision for 2026 is not about doing more—it is about stepping into what God has already spoken. It does not require a new calling, but renewed courage. It does not demand another word, but belief in the first one.

Genesis 1:28 is still true. The blessing remains active. The authority still stands.

This is not the year to hold back. It is the year to steward well, build faithfully, multiply intentionally, and influence boldly. 2026 is a year to walk in dominion.
