Daniel 10:12 (NIV) "Then he continued, 'Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.'" "
Daniel was no stranger to trials. From standing before kings to surviving a den of lions, his life was marked by unwavering faith. But in Daniel 10, we find him not in a moment of public triumph, but in private devotion—fasting, mourning, and praying for three weeks. He wasn’t seeking recognition or comfort; he was seeking God. And then, after days of silence, the angel arrives with a powerful message: “Your words were heard from the first day.”
How often do we feel like our prayers are unheard? We pray, but the situation doesn’t change. We fast, but the breakthrough doesn’t come immediately. Yet, this passage reminds us that just because we don’t see the answer doesn’t mean God isn’t moving. Daniel’s prayers triggered a heavenly response, but they also stirred opposition in the spiritual realm. The angel was delayed because of a battle unseen by human eyes. But the delay was not a denial—help was on the way.
Lord, help me to trust You even in seasons of silence. Strengthen my faith like Daniel’s, that I may remain steadfast in prayer, knowing that You hear me from the very first moment. Teach me to stand firm, to seek You earnestly, and to be unshakeable in my walk with You. Amen.
