Unshakable: Part 3

"Suddenly, they saw the fingers of a human hand writing on the plaster wall of the king’s palace, near the lampstand. The king himself saw the hand as it wrote, and his face turned pale with fright. His knees knocked together in fear, and his legs gave way beneath him." Daniel 5:5-6 (NLT)

There’s a saying still used today that comes directly from this passage: "The writing is on the wall." It’s often said when someone is heading down a path that clearly leads to destruction.

God sometimes uses extraordinary means—like a hand appearing and writing on a wall—to sober us up from our pride. He had enough of Belshazzar’s mockery and arrogance, reminding us that He is not a God to be ridiculed. In a society where pride and idolatry are normalized, our unshakable faith must rise to the occasion, standing firm against anything that exalts itself above God.

Declaration Prayer:

In the name of Jesus, I declare that Jesus occupies my heart, and pride must go. Jesus is Lord over my life, and pride has no place to rule over me. I am seated in heavenly places with God in Christ Jesus—pride has no seat in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
