WEEKLY DEVOTION

UNMUTE YOUR YES

Scripture:

Exodus 4:2 (ESV) “The LORD said to him, ‘What is that in your hand?’ He said, ‘A staff.’”

Devotional Thought:

When God called Moses, He didn’t ask him to find something new. He asked him to look at what he already had in his hand. Moses had an ordinary staff, but when he surrendered it to God and obeyed, it became part of something extraordinary.

Sometimes we overlook the gifts, skills, and experiences God has already given us because they seem ordinary or because we compare ourselves to others. But God can use what we have to make a difference in someone else’s life.

You don’t need to have someone else’s gift or stand on a stage to serve God. You can make a difference by welcoming someone, helping a child, encouraging a friend, or offering your skills to help others.

God can also use the experiences you’ve walked through to help someone facing a similar situation. What He has worked in you can become something He works through you.

The question is not whether you have something impressive to offer. The question is whether you are willing to make yourself available. Your first yes doesn’t have to be perfect; it just has to be willing.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What gifts, skills, or experiences has God placed in my hands that I may be overlooking?
  2. Have I been comparing myself to others instead of using what God has given me?
  3. What is one practical way I can serve or help someone this week?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gifts, skills, and experiences You have placed in my life. Help me to stop comparing myself to others and to recognise the value of what You have entrusted to me. Give me a willing heart and the courage to take the next step. Show me how I can use what I have to serve others and make a difference. May my faith be seen through my actions and my willingness to say yes to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Action Step:

Identify one gift, skill, or ability you can use to help someone this week. Take a practical step to put it into action, whether by serving at church, encouraging someone, or meeting a need around you.

Family Declaration:

We declare that God has placed gifts and purpose in our hands. We will not compare ourselves to others or underestimate what we have to offer. We choose to serve with willing hearts, use our gifts to bless others, and allow God to work through us. Our faith will be seen in our actions, and we will never mute our yes to God. Amen!
