“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God… Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.” Acts 16:25–26 (NIV)

Devotion:

Midnight praise isn’t pretty — it’s powerful. Paul and Silas didn’t worship because they felt free. They worshipped until freedom came. The Holy Spirit didn’t wait for a perfect setting — He responded to surrendered sound. When they lifted up a Spirit-filled song, the prison shook, doors opened, and everyone’s chains came loose.

Your midnight moment might feel heavy, but don’t underestimate your sound. What you release in private could unlock someone else’s breakthrough in public. The Holy Spirit still meets us in the dark, still breaks chains, and still turns prisons into platforms.

Declaration Prayer:

Holy Spirit, I invite You into my midnight. Shake what needs to be shaken, break what needs to be broken, and use my sound to set others free. I declare that I am not locked up — I am UNLOCKED for purpose. In Jesus’ name, amen.
