“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” —2 Corinthians 3:17 (ESV)
We’ve stepped into a brand-new series—and more than just a series, it’s a prophetic declaration: you are being unlocked. Maybe you've felt it lately—stuck in old patterns, trapped in fear, or caught in comparison. Maybe it feels like you’re standing still between a promise from God and the fulfillment of it. That space—the in-between—can be uncomfortable, confusing, and even painful. But don’t miss this truth: God often unlocks us in the in-between.
The disciples knew this feeling. Jesus had risen from the grave and spent 40 days with them. Then He ascended—and told them to wait. They were left with a promise of power but no clear timeline. The door hadn’t opened yet, but Jesus had handed them the key. “Wait in Jerusalem,” He said. And they did.
Obedience unlocks alignment. When we trust God’s word over our impulse to act or fix or run, we place ourselves in position to receive what heaven is sending. But they didn’t just wait idly. They prayed together, unified in heart and hunger.
Prayer unlocks preparation. The in-between wasn’t wasted—it was a space of spiritual readiness. Their unity created an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit could descend.
Unity unlocks power. When the day of Pentecost came, they were all in one place, in one accord. The outpouring of the Spirit was not random—it was a result of hearts aligned with God and with each other.
So maybe right now, you’re in your own “upper room” moment. Between a word and its fulfillment. Between loss and restoration. Between a dream and its reality.
Can we encourage you? You are not stuck—you are being staged. You are not forgotten—you are being formed. Don’t rush the process. Don’t waste the wait. Let obedience shape you. Let prayer prepare you. Let unity position you. And remember: none of this is possible without the cross. Before there was an upper room of power, there was an upper room of sacrifice. Before the Spirit was poured out, the blood was poured out.
Holy Spirit, help me in the in-between. Give me strength to obey, a heart to pray, and humility to walk in unity. Remind me that waiting is not wasting—it’s preparation. Thank You, Jesus, for the cross, for the promise, and for the power. I trust You with what’s next. Amen.
