The Elephant in the Room: Part 2

"He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him." Luke 10:34 (NIV)

Sometimes the elephant in the room is not that we don’t see the need—it’s that we’re too busy or too uncomfortable to stop. Real compassion doesn't just notice hurt; it steps into it. Like the Samaritan, love calls us beyond convenience. It costs us time, energy, and comfort. But Jesus didn’t give us a quick fix—He gave everything. If we want to reflect Him, we must move beyond passing glances and step into real, costly care.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to love in a way that costs me something. Teach me to stop, to stay, and to serve with Your heart. Amen.
