THE LIVING ROOM
Acts 2:42 (ESV) "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."
A house is more than walls and a roof—it becomes a home because of the relationships built inside it. In the same way, God never intended His Church to be a place we simply attend. He designed it to be a family where we belong.
The early church understood this. They didn't just meet once a week; they shared life together. They learned God's Word, prayed together, shared meals, encouraged one another, and carried each other's burdens. Their relationships reflected the love of Christ, and because of that, people were drawn to Jesus.
We live in a world where it's possible to be connected online yet still feel lonely. God offers something much deeper than online connection—He offers genuine community. He calls us to know others, be known by others, and make room for others.
As we strengthen the "living room" of our spiritual house, we create spaces where people feel welcomed, loved, and encouraged. When we choose to love like Jesus, our homes become places of peace, our church becomes a family, and our lives become an invitation for others to encounter Christ.
Father, thank You for adopting me into Your family. Help me to value genuine relationships and not live my faith in isolation. Teach me to encourage others, carry their burdens, and make people feel welcome. Let my home and my church reflect Your love so that others will see Jesus through us. In His name I pray, Amen.
Reach out to one person this week. Invite them for coffee, a meal, a Life Group, or simply spend time encouraging them. Be intentional about strengthening relationships and making room for one more.
Today we declare: As a family, we choose to build a home where Jesus is welcome, love is evident, and everyone has a place to belong. We will encourage one another, pray for one another, and carry each other's burdens. Our home and our church will be places where strangers become family, and where there is always room for one more. We will strengthen the house by strengthening our relationships. Amen.
