Hebrews 10:23 (ESV) “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
We live in a world full of promises, but very few promise keepers. Many of us carry the weight of broken words — things people meant to do, hoped to do, but never followed through on. Over time, disappointment can make us cautious, even with God.
But Scripture reminds us of a foundational truth: God is not like us. When God makes a promise, He doesn’t panic halfway through. He doesn’t back out when circumstances change. He doesn’t withdraw His word when the process becomes difficult.
God makes promises from eternity, with full knowledge of our failures, delays, and detours. Even when we are inconsistent, He remains faithful — not because of what we do, but because of who He is. Sometimes the struggle isn’t that God failed to keep His promise, but that it happened in a way we didn’t expect, or through a process we didn’t choose. Waiting seasons, confusion, and disappointment don’t cancel God’s covenant. The process is not punishment — it’s preparation.
Every promise God has made finds its fulfilment in Jesus. The cross reminds us that God didn’t keep His promises from a distance — He stepped into history to fulfil them personally. You may still be in process, but the promise is still alive.
Faithful God, help me to trust You even when the process feels long and unclear. Heal the disappointment I carry and remind me that You always keep Your word. Strengthen my faith to hold onto hope without wavering. I choose to trust You, knowing You are a Promise Keeper. Amen.
Write down one promise from Scripture that you’re believing God for. Each day this week, thank Him for it — even if you’re still waiting for the fulfilment.
As a family, we declare: God is faithful. His promises do not fail. We trust Him through every process. What He has spoken, He will fulfil. We serve a Promise Keeper.
