"As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” They replied, “The Lord needs it.”" Luke 19:33–34 (NIV)

"Because the Lord needs it" was reason enough for the owners of the colt to respond obediently. If we want to follow Jesus faithfully, we must be prepared to untie the things we hold on to—things that Jesus wants to use to establish and expand His Kingdom.

Imagine how different the Palm Sunday story would have been if the owners of the donkey had a different attitude and hadn’t freely, unreservedly offered their donkey—leaving the colt tied up? I wonder how often our inability to untie our things prevents God from doing something that He wants to do?

Lord Jesus, we declare that as we are willing and obedient to You, we will eat the good of the land. We will seek Your Kingdom above all else and live righteously. We declare and decree this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
