WEEKLY DEVOTION

Dominion: Taking Ground

Scripture Reading:

“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses.”

Joshua 1:3 (ESV)

Devotional Thought:

God’s promises are real, but they are not passive. In Joshua 1, God tells His people that the land is already given — yet it only becomes theirs when they step onto it. Victory was declared, but possession required movement.

Many believers know what God has promised, but hesitate to move forward. Faith believes; obedience steps. When we stand still, territory remains contested. But when we move in obedience — praying again, setting boundaries, showing up consistently — we stake the ground God has already assigned to us.

This year is not about waiting to feel ready. It’s about taking the next step. God directs moving feet, not frozen faith. Where your foot lands, heaven responds.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What area of my life has God already promised, but I haven’t fully stepped into yet?
  2. Is there something I’ve delayed that God is asking me to move on now?
  3. What is one simple step of obedience I can take this week?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the promises You have already spoken over my life. Give me courage to move forward in faith and obedience. Help me not to delay what You have called me to step into. Order my steps and strengthen my trust in You. Amen.

Action Step:

Identify one area where you’ve been standing still. Take one practical step this week — pray, act, commit, or return — and intentionally step onto the ground God has given you.

Family Declaration:

As a family, we declare: Where our foot lands, God has given us authority. We will not stand still or shrink back. We will move in faith and obedience. We will take the ground God has promised us. This year, we walk in courage and dominion.
