WEEKLY DEVOTION

REPAIR THE BRIDGE

Scripture:

"Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings." Isaiah 58:12 (NIV)

Devotion:

We’re not just called to build bridges—we’re called to repair them. Sometimes, the damage isn’t dramatic; it’s subtle. A slow drift. A quiet offense. A wound left unspoken. But God doesn’t want us to walk around the ruins—He calls us to restore them.

Restoration starts with recognition. What you won’t acknowledge, God won’t heal. Like the man in John 5, healing begins with honesty: “Do you want to be well?” Even if you didn’t cause the break, you can still choose to repair it. Why? Because in the Kingdom, maturity means taking responsibility for peace.

And yes, restoration often invites resistance. But don’t be discouraged—the enemy only attacks what threatens his agenda. So pick up the tools. Love lays down pride. Love rebuilds.

Prayer:

Lord, give me eyes to see where repair is needed and the courage to act. Even if I didn’t cause the damage, help me be a bridge repairer. Strengthen my hands and soften my heart. Use me to restore what’s been broken. In Jesus’ name, amen.
