REMOVE THE LID
Genesis 26:22 (NIV) “He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarrelled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, ‘Now the Lord has given us room and we will flourish in the land.’”
Sometimes the problem isn't that God has stopped moving in our lives. Sometimes something is simply blocking the flow. Like Isaac's wells, the source was still there—it was just covered with dirt. In our lives, disappointment, bitterness, fear, offence, shame, and unresolved hurt can slowly build up until we struggle to access the joy, peace, and faith that God has already placed within us.
The good news is that a blocked well is not a barren well. What feels lost may simply need to be uncovered.
Isaac didn't give up when one well became difficult. He dug again. Then he dug again. Eventually, he reached a place called Rehoboth—a place of room, space, and flourishing.
Sometimes we need to stop fighting over the dirt and start digging again. Not every argument needs to be won. Not every accusation needs to be answered. Not every battle deserves our energy. Some battles are simply distractions from what God has called us to do.
Ask God today, “What's blocking my flow?” Then surrender it to Him. God isn't uncovering the dirt to shame you; He's uncovering the well because He wants you to drink again.
Father, show me what is blocking the flow in my life. Help me to release bitterness, disappointment, fear, offence, and anything else that has built up in my heart. Give me the courage to dig again and the wisdom to walk away from battles that are not mine to fight. Lead me to my Rehoboth—a place of room, peace, growth, and flourishing. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Take some quiet time today and ask God: “What is blocking my flow?” Write down whatever comes to mind and intentionally surrender it to Him. If there is a situation you need to release, choose peace over proving your point.
Today we declare: We will not settle for blocked wells. We choose to release every offence, bitterness, disappointment, and fear that has taken up space in our lives. We will keep digging, keep trusting, and keep believing that God is our source. The Lord is making room for us to breathe, grow, flourish, and be fruitful. We are entering our Rehoboth. Amen.
